• HUUM DROP: A strong starting point for many residential saunas. DROP is wall-mounted, available from 4.5 to 9 kW in the current U.S. range, and holds about 121 lb of stones. It is a good fit when you want to preserve floor space while still getting a large exposed stone surface.
• HUUM CLIFF: Designed for narrow installations. Standard CLIFF models are floor-standing and use a tall, slim footprint, while CLIFF Mini is designed for compact spaces and can be wall-mounted. Standard CLIFF models hold about 165 lb of stones.
• HUUM STEEL: A minimalist alternative to CLIFF with a similarly slim profile. Standard STEEL models are floor-standing and hold a much larger stone load, while STEEL Mini is the compact wall-mounted option.

Start with the interior volume of the sauna: length x width x height. Then adjust for uninsulated surfaces. HUUM specifies adding 3.3 cu. ft. to the calculated sauna volume for every 1 sq. ft. of uninsulated glass, tile or brick.

For instance, a 6 ft. × 6 ft. × 7 ft. sauna provides a base volume of 252 cu. ft. If it also has 20 sq. ft. of uninsulated glass, add 66 cu. ft. (20 x 3.3), producing an adjusted volume of about 318 cu. ft. The heater should be selected using the adjusted volume, not the 252 cu. ft. base volume.

HUUM designs many of its heaters around a large exposed stone mass. The stones store heat and turn water into löyly during the sauna session. Larger stone loads can support softer, longer-lasting steam, but they also require correct stone placement and unrestricted airflow around the heating elements.

Stone capacity varies substantially by model. DROP holds about 122 lb, standard CLIFF about 165 lb, standard STEEL about 330 lb, HIVE Mini about 330 lb and HIVE about 551 lb. Always use the stone size and quantity specified for the exact heater.
