Description
Kohler Anthem Three-Port Recessed Mechanical Thermostatic Valve
The Kohler Anthem Three-Port Recessed Mechanical Thermostatic Valve gives you consistent temperature control across up to three shower outlets. It is a high-flow, mechanically controlled thermostatic mixing valve that holds the outlet temperature steady, delivering up to 8 gpm (30.3 lpm) at 45 psi, with a maximum of 7 gpm from any single outlet.
Safety and comfort are built in. The valve provides antiscald protection, an integrated adjustable high-temperature limit stop, and an adjustable comfort setting preset at approximately 104°F. Integral service stops with filters make maintenance easier, and the valve is fully serviceable from the front. For installations where water conservation or CEC compliance is required, the included optional flow restrictor limits total flow to 1.75 gpm (6.6 lpm).
The valve body is cast dezincification-resistant brass with 3/4" female NPT inlets and 1/2" female NPT outlets. It comes mostly assembled and mounts within standard 2" x 4" walls. Pair it with the Anthem K-26347-9 three-outlet recessed mechanical thermostatic valve control, whose recessed push buttons turn each outlet on and off and adjust its flow.
Installation note: Install according to Kohler's installation instructions and local plumbing codes. Position the valve with the 3/4" NPT inlets on the left, level it and secure it to support framing. The installer must set the maximum outlet temperature per ASTM F 444, and Kohler advises keeping the hot water temperature at or below 120°F (49°C) to reduce scald risk. The valve contains plastic and rubber parts, so do not apply excessive heat, flux or acids to it, and do not use petroleum-based lubricants. The valve is factory calibrated at 43.5 psi with 145°F hot and 55°F cold supplies; recalibration may be needed if your site conditions differ. Plug any unused ports and check for leaks before finishing the wall.
